How exciting, tonight the Three Kings are coming! For those of us who have been good all year (almost all year) there will be tons of presents; for the naughty ones they'll bring coal, which isn't bad either, it'll be enough for a barbecue at least.

We have already talked You've been here for the Three Kings' Day celebrations, and perhaps you're familiar with the tradition of the Three Kings' Parade, which takes place today, and the fierce competition to grab as many sweets as possible. How white is Christmas in your area? GranadaIt is as white as the snow that covers the Sierra Nevada hills.

If you've ever visited, you'll understand what we mean, because the mountains fill your view from every angle; few things are as spectacular as witnessing that white giant that frames the city. Sierra Nevada is our nature reserve, our water source, and our lungs. But Sierra Nevada isn't just for admiring, it's also for enjoying.

We have a little game for you, called a crossword puzzle. You have to write the names of six ski slopes in the correct places. Does it seem difficult? Don't worry, we've added a little hint to each one, so we're confident you'll be able to solve it. Good luck!

January 2

Are you familiar with the Day of the Taking? It is celebrated every January 2nd in Granada and it is related to our past history as well as our recent politics.

Officially, on January 2, 1492 Granada It went from being the capital of the Nasrid sultanate to being integrated into the Kingdom of Castile. The last Granadan king, Abu Abdallah (better known as Boabdil), went into exile in the Sierra Nevada with some loyal followers, while the majority of the population remained on the condition that their lives, businesses, language, religion, and culture would be respected.

Today there is a march through certain streets in the city center and an official ceremony in the town hall square. Somewhat sadly and shamefully, the event is being used by groups with opposing political views to hurl insults at each other, which causes some surprise among visitors.

Without getting into any controversies, here's a short exercise to test your reading comprehension. It describes a parallel tradition that occurs in the Alhambra That day, the text is taken from the website granadaporelmundo.com/dia-de-la-toma-de-granada, Although we trust you won't look at the page before answering, right?

How are you enjoying Christmas so far? Relax, there are still days left to enjoy it…

For today, Monday, we have a pleasant surprise in store for you: we present Christmas sweets. There's quite a selection, and I have to say that in most homes, they're simply a must-have. At the very least, there's always a tray overflowing with these treats.

The star ingredient in our sweets is the almond, used in countless recipes and featured in a wide variety of dishes. Also, a word of caution for vegetarians: some sweets use animal fat (butter), although in many cases they are adapting to use vegetable fat substitutes to make them suitable. Check carefully before eating…

We've put together this little game to help you get to know them better. If you want to explore further, you know what to do: find them and try them! Go for it, everyone loves a sweet treat!

December 29

I hope you didn't pay too much attention to the little joke From yesterday. As you can see, we're back again; since it's Sunday, we've got a little puzzle for you, which in Spanish is called a word search. Have fun!

December 28

What happens in Spain on April 1st? Good question, what's supposed to happen? Does anything have to happen at all? The answer is nothing special, that is, life goes on, because April Fools' Day is today, December 28th!

Originally connected to the biblical story of Herod's massacre of children, which is rather sinister, the tradition has evolved into a day of pranks that, to be honest, not many people celebrate. Perhaps because you expect them, perhaps because you don't appreciate them, pranks on this day are becoming increasingly rare.

A typical prank on this day is spreading fake news. You might see it on TV or in the newspaper; it's easy to believe and often humorous. Other things you might do include sticking a coin to the ground, swapping sugar for salt, smearing toothpaste on someone's face, or placing a paper doll on their back.

Ha ha, how funny

We're going to give you the last homework assignments for the Christmas calendar, because sadly, this series, which we hope you've enjoyed, ends today. The question is: what's the difference between a joke and a prank?

See you around…

A very special tradition of ours is setting up a Nativity scene at home. What is a Nativity scene? It's a recreation of the birth of Jesus in which many figures recreate a traditional scene.

Nativity scenes today compete in elaborateness and originality; they can feature static figures or real people. What's clear is that some elements are essential, so we propose a little game with the cards below. Do the following images belong in a Nativity scene or not? Let's see how many you can guess correctly.
