A crucial element that draws us into Christmas is the advertising that floods television and social media these days. From a critical perspective, it fuels consumerism (the dark side of these holidays), but on the other hand, it's a ritual we welcome and remember fondly each year.

A Christmas classic is the Freixenet cava advertisement and its little bubblesActresses dressed in gold, mimicking the spirit of the drink. You can see the 2017 campaign here.

In 1999, a little boy entertained and tormented us in equal measure with his tiny voice. Those of us who are a bit older still dream about Edu.

El Almendro nougat left us with a melody that's etched in our memories. In 2023, they introduced it to us like this:

In the Pleistocene era of television, Famosa dolls wished us a Merry Christmas in a way that was both endearing and unsettling. Let's go back to 1972:

We don't want to keep you any longer, so here's the latest one from Campofrío this year. The cultural references are for the more astute among you—see if you recognize the characters!

On a day like today, the only message we can say is the one we write on a Christmas card, which many people call chrism (for some reason). Here's a template with the typical words used; customize it however you like.

- CastiLa wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We hope that 2025 brings the best for you and your loved ones.

With love,

CastiLa

Sending you a big hug, enjoy your day whether you have a hangover or not.

We're getting ready for tonight, which promises to be very special. Do you have plans, dinners with someone, or are you expecting visitors? If you wrote the letter yesterdayWe trust that so.

This night is NochebuenaWhich means a night of celebration and singing. Whether you're celebrating a religious event or another year around the sun, any excuse is a good one for a nice dinner and singing together. That's why we're sharing three songs we hope you'll sing along to tonight.

Many countries have their own Christmas folklore, whether shared or unique, and music is an essential part of it; this music is called in Spanish the Christmas carolsAlthough you're about to hear them, let me tell you a little about them: the music can be solemn, like that of a church choir, or festive, more suitable for a group of revelers. Sometimes the messages go beyond the religious and reflect everyday life situations, relationships between family and neighbors, or invitations to enjoy the party. Some melodies are international, others are original.

Here's the famous Noche de pazEasily recognizable. Given the way the world is going, it's more necessary than ever.

One of my favorites is the one that comes next, perhaps because chocolate is the central theme? It's called A donkey goes to Bethlehem And it is sung with a smile.

Finally, this one's for singing at the top of your lungs and breaking windows. We'd love to hear you singing! Ande la Marimorena.

We wish you a good night. See you tomorrow.

December 23

How have you behaved this year? If you're expecting presents tomorrow, you'd better have been good. Krampus He's not coming anymore, but you might still find a sack of coal under the tree…

We trust you, so we think the surprise will be pleasant. But wait a minute, have you written your letter yet?

In Spain we maintain a certain rivalry between two gift providers: on the one hand there is Father Christmas, also known as Saint Nicholas or Santa Claus, who came directly from the North Pole with his reindeer; on the other hand, Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar, three friends who get together around this time with their camels to travel around the world.

They have a mission to fulfill.

Choose who to ask for your gifts and write them a letter. If you don't know how, here's a guide:

Darling (write the name)

As this year I have been (Write about your behavior), I'm going to ask you for these gifts for Christmas:

  1. I want (eWrite down your desired gift, be careful to use a proper subjunctive mood)
  2. I also want (same as above)
  3. Finally, I wish (same)

Thank you so much for everything, see you next year.

Lots of kisses and hugs,

(write your name).

And that's it, let us know if it worked for you. Big hug, see you tomorrow.

Hello and Merry Christmas!

Thank you for visiting our Christmas calendar post-adventWe hope you enjoy these days as much as we do.

We can say that Christmas in Spain begins on the 22nd, and you probably know why: it's lottery day! We look hopefully at our five-number combination and cross our fingers to hear the melody of the San Ildefonso school choir.

But the prize, the famous FatIt's not that attractive compared to other prizes. Well, it's not bad money, but you won't become a millionaire. For a ticket that costs €20, you can expect to win a maximum of €328.000 after taxes, net. So what makes this lottery so popular?

The key can be found by watching the following National Lottery advertisement. We suggest you look up the meaning of the lottery in relation to history.

We wholeheartedly wish you happy holidays and hope to see you here every day to turn a new page in this calendar. If you've won the lottery, congratulations! Imagine if it were us, what a party it would be!

The year is almost over! How quickly everything goes by, right? Now it's time to reflect, take stock of our past actions, and prepare a list of New Year's resolutions for 2025, which we're sure you'll keep this time. We believe in you.
