El extensive Spanish course It responds to the needs of residents in Granada who have other activities such as studies or work and have limited time to attend classes.
The school proposes a preliminary level test In order to enroll you at the appropriate level and available time, you can take the test in person or via the link above. This test is supplemented by a preliminary interview before the course begins.
Objectives and contents: The Spanish course for residents includes 4 weekly classes (2+2). While it shares the objectives of the general Spanish courses (Codes 101 and 103), given the participants' immersion situation, the activities selected for class focus on the communicative needs of living in Granada, with review and practice of the necessary formal content. The small groups of maximum 6 students They contribute to a precise planning of those objectives.
These courses are an effective complement to the usual use and practice of Spanish in an immersion situation, which translates into specific objectives such as: acquiring linguistic resources, clarifying doubts, doing practical exercises (language gym), provide guidance on cultural aspects and opportunities in Granada…
Learning Levels and ProgressProgressive programs of 16 hours per month are offered for 6 Niveles of language proficiency established in the CEFR (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2).

The complete program for these extensive courses (48 hours) includes selected content. of the weekly modules of the intensive courses (80 / 120 hours). Approximate equivalent: Extensive Module (4 weeks – 16 hours) > Extensive Module (2 weeks – 40 hours)

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE AND GENERAL CONDITIONS
How to enroll
If you have never studied Spanish:
If you are an absolute beginner, we recommend an intensive introductory course (A1) of at least 2 weeks. (Start dates in Intensive courses)
If you already have some knowledge and/or have studied Spanish before:
We suggest you take a level test: a written test and an oral interview. We recommend taking the test in person, but you can also take it online, and the oral interview by phone or online.Skype, Zoom, Meet....)
Schedule an appointment by calling 958 20 58 63, sending a WhatsApp message to 626 905 158, or emailing admissions@castila.es. If you are unable to take the placement test at CastiLa, please arrange an online or telephone interview with the Registrar's Office.
Schedule for level tests from January to May: Mondays from 9:00 to 10:30. Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11:30 and 17:30.

The placement test will last a maximum of 15 minutes for the oral portion. The written test will take a maximum of 50 minutes, depending on the level.
If you have already studied Spanish in Castile and you wish to continue or extend your course:
The teachers will recommend the most appropriate level to guarantee your progress in Spanish.
Certificates:
CastiLa issues its own level certificates and certificates of attendance. It also organizes exams for official diplomas (DELE, CCSE, SIELE).
Tuition
Once your level has been determined, you can register in person, online, or by phone. The registrar's office will issue a payment slip that you can pay by bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash.
The Secretary's office hours for registration are:
-Monday and Thursday: 10:30 to 18:00; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday: 10:30-14:30 (Secretariat closed: February 28, March 29)
– Enrollment in CastiLa courses implies acceptance of its General Conditions (See www.castila.es) and also:
-possibility of participating in the extracurricular and sociocultural activities proposed in bimonthly programs
-Access to the center and its own services (library, Wifi, accommodation) under the conditions established for its students.
Cancellations and refunds
-Registration will be effective once payment has been received. In the event of cancellation of the course, you will be notified prior to its start. In such a case, the full amount received will be refunded.
-Students must consider their personal situation and capacity for commitment before enrolling.
-Cancellations submitted in writing via admissions@castila.es or at the registrar's office, up to the Thursday before the start of the course, will be entitled to an 80% refund of the amount paid. Once the course has started, there will be no full or partial refunds for reasons attributable to the student; however, the administration will consider offering the course on other available dates.
Courses require a minimum of 3 students, so confirmation of the requested course level and schedule must be communicated prior to the start of the course (up to 24 hours before the start time). CastiLa reserves the right to cancel the course, in which case a full (100%) refund will be issued.
– Castila reserves the right to change the schedule due to exceptional circumstances, which will be agreed upon with the students; changes which would be reported well in advance.
If you are going to miss class, please inform the office or your coordinating teacher as soon as possible so that we can send you the content and activities planned for that class. The office is not authorized to share teachers' personal information.
Course/Level Changes
Students may request a group change due to scheduling conflicts or level preferences. Changes must be agreed upon with the academic team.
Holidays: Classes that coincide with a public holiday are changed at the convenience of students and teachers.
Classes take place at Casa San Nicolás, headquarters of CastiLa, a center accredited by the Cervantes Institute. Plaza de San Nicolás, 3.
