To practise Spanish skiing in Sierra Nevada, the southernmost ski resort in Europe.

Description

Granada is a city known for its history, its cultural activity and its vibrant life. And also for its incomparable surroundings, between the sea and the mountains, the Costa Tropical and Sierra Nevada, one of the largest and most attractive ski resorts in Spain.

CastiLa offers the possibility to enjoy three aspects of Granada: the Spanish language, the rich leisure and cultural offer, and skiing just a few minutes from the centre in Sierra Nevada, under the spectacular winter light with views of the Mediterranean and Africa.

Groups of maximum 3 students with the Spanish teacher.

Programme

PROGRAMME OF THE STAY

The programme combines an intensive Spanish course with a week of skiing in the Sierra Nevada, accompanied by the Spanish teacher (and other skiing friends), both on the slopes and on the way.

The Spanish classes take place at CastiLa’s headquarters in the historic and quirky Albaicín neighbourhood in Granada. In the Plaza de San Nicolás, a place to learn Spanish… and much more…

Intensive Spanish Course Week

An intensive course of 20 or 30 Spanish lessons, plus 12-15 hours of socio-cultural activities. General A and 102. General B, taught in Castila, a centre accredited by the Instituto Cervantes.

Ski Week

The ski week includes:

* Forfait x 5 full days access to all the ski lifts, to the available slopes (10:00 to 16:30).

* Travel to the resort in private transport organised by the school (departure 9.30am / return 5.00pm).

* Up to 7 hours of skiing with Spaniards, including the Spanish teacher, who knows the slopes and services available in the resort and Granada.

Participants will be provided with a 5-day ski pass subject to the general conditions of the public company managing the ski resort, Cetursa SA.

FAQ

Sometimes the clear atmosphere allows us to see the golden Mediterranean and Africa in the background. What a great day of skiing, and what a luxury 90 kms of slopes with 1 metre of powder snow, under the sun!

Do you have to know how to ski?

Students can have any level of skiing. Everyone enjoys the mountains at their own level, in their own style.

How much does a ski instructor cost?

Prices per lesson depend on the timetable and the number of students.

Please let us know your skiing level if you decide to take this course.

Who will I ski with?

A Spanish teacher will ski with the Spanish students. The Spanish teacher is not a ski instructor. If you want a good ski instructor, we will help you find the best option. We collaborate with the Spanish Ski School.

Do I have to bring my own ski equipment or can I rent it?

To rent ski equipment we collaborate with a ski and snowboard rental shop that offers excellent service and equipment, probably the most professional in the Sierra Nevada and, without doubt, at the best price through CastiLa. The basic equipment to hire is skis/boards, poles, boots and ski storage at the foot of the slopes. Other accessories such as helmets and gloves are also available.

Meals during the skiing days?

During the ski days, we usually bring some snacks for lunch together, for example with a view of the Mediterranean Sea and sometimes Africa. Other times, we decide to stop at a picnic area on the slopes. At the end of the day, depending on how we feel like it, we stop for a drink or a meal together in a picturesque spot. If your accommodation is full board, the family will provide you with a packed lunch.

NUMBER OF STUDENTS PER GROUP: Maximum 6 and minimum 2

CLASSES PER DAY: Spanish course: 4 classes (303) or 6 classes (304). Skiing in Sierra Nevada with the Spanish language teachers: 6 hours.

CLASSES PER WEEK: Spanish course: 20 classes (303) or 30 classes (304). Skiing in Sierra Nevada with the Spanish language teachers: 30 hours.

DURATION OF A CLASS: 50 minutes

SCHEDULE: Spanish course: mornings between 8:35 and 14:30, depending of the course. Skiing day: between 9.00 and 18.00.

METHOD: Practical communication activities with special attention to the way of expression. Rotation of teachers.

MATERIAL INCLUIDED IN THE PRICE: Books and all the necessary equipment.

SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: Apart from skiing there is a programme for daily activities in the afternoons with our teacher and on the weekends with collaborating teachers.

NATIONAL HOLIDAYS 2026 (no classes): April 3rd, May 1st, June 4th, August 14th, October 12th, December 8th and 25th.
