Description

For groups organized by teachers in their country of originIts main objective is linguistic and cultural immersion, and the continuous practice of Spanish. It is also an open program that incorporates the interests of teachers, both in the selection of academic content and complementary activities.

As a complement to the academic program, the organizing professors can choose from a wide range of subjects such as History, Geography, Society, Business…

For example, some of the topics chosen by the teachers are: Muslim Spain and Granada, FlamencoGypsy Culture, Spain and the European Union, Trade Relations between Spain and Latin America Semana Santa in Spain…

Duration: 1 to 4 weeks. Level requirements: all levels. Programs adapted for groups of different secondary school levels.

Objectives

Improve students' communication skills by combining classroom activities with specific extracurricular activities appropriate to the age and educational level of the participants.

Program summary

A comprehensive program that includes classroom work, activities, and accommodation, preferably with host families. Students are part of an international group of young people, including Spaniards—our “local ambassadors”—whose common language is Spanish, which is used in various situations.

– With their Spanish families: with their Spanish “parents” and “siblings”.

– In the classroom: with experienced teachers, specialized in teaching teenagers and developing materials appropriate for their age and level.

– Outside of class: in carefully planned activities organized according to the students' interests and communicative objectives, and previously supervised by their teachers. Examples include:

* Sports and other leisure activities.

* Must-see attractions: The AlhambraRoyal Chapel, Charterhouse monuments and places of sociocultural interest.

* The diverse cultural richness of Andalusia: Cordoba, Seville, Baeza, Úbeda…

* The varied natural wealth of GranadaNatural parks, mountain ranges, beaches, countryside: Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Huétor, Costa Tropical, Guadix...

* Ceramics workshop with renowned masters from Granada; football matches for boys, girls and teachers; beach volleyball, salsa classes; the opportunity to meet young people their own age; a paella in the school garden…

A) · 1 week to 4 weeks

B) · Course: 20 classes / week; includes school material and the program coordinated with the teacher in your country.

C) · Accommodation

– With families, double room, full board or half board. Single room available.

– In shared apartments, double or single rooms.

D) · Round trip to Malaga Airport (AGP) or Granada (GRX)

E) · 2 afternoon/evening activities.

F) · Visit to the Alhambra.

G) · 1 half-day or full-day excursion (Mountain/Beach)

H) · Free admission for accompanying teachers: 1 teacher for every 8 students.

I) · Presence of a teacher of CastiLa in all activities.

Practice and progress in students' communicative skills, with special attention to listening comprehension and oral expression and interaction.

Setting: One excursion per week
Choose between a half-day or a full day to explore the natural, cultural, and historical offerings of the surrounding area: Córdoba, Seville, Baeza and Úbeda, Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Huétor, Sierra de Cazorla, Costa Tropical…
Local Ambassadors
Schoolchildren of the same age, with similar interests and concerns, motivated by the intercultural experience, who collaborate with CastiLa and contribute to a complete social and cultural immersion of the group.
