The Camino de Santiago is a route traveled by pilgrims from all over the world to reach Santiago de Compostela, where the relics of the apostle James the Greater are venerated. It was very popular during the Middle Ages, then fell into relative obscurity, but has recently experienced a resurgence. The French Way was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.
We will travel the last 105 km of the French Way, between Sarria and Santiago; thus we will obtain La Compostela, the pilgrimage certificate issued by the ecclesiastical authorities.
