For groups organised by teachers in their home country. This is an open programme which means that it reflects the current interests of the teachers in the field of academic programme planning as well as in the selection of activities.
The teacher can choose between a wide range of subjects such as History, Geography, Social Studies, Business, etc.
For example, some of the subjects chosen by teachers are: Muslim Spain and Granada, Flamenco, Gypsy Culture, Spain and the EU, Commercial relations between Spain and Latin America, Semana Santa (Easter) in Spain…
Participants: Standard program, from 11 students. Please, ask for conditions for groups of less than 11 students.
Age and level requirements: Similar for the participants in the group.
To improve students’ Spanish communication skills by combining classroom activities with extracurricular activities appropriate to their age.
Description of the program
A complete, well-rounded program that includes coursework, activities and lodging. Students will be part of an international group of young people, including spaniards, whose common language is Spanish which is tested in different situations:
- With their Spanish host families:Interacting with parents, children and room-mates.
- In the classroom: with experienced teachers who specialize in teaching teenagers and studying material appropiate to their age and level.
- Outside the classroom: participation in carefully planned activities organized according to the students’ interest and their communication goals, well-supervised by their teachers, eg.:
– Sports and other leisure activities.
– Visits to must see sights (the Alhambra and other monuments and places of socio-cultural interest)
– Granada’s richly varied natural setting: mountains, beach, countryside.
– Group soccer games for boys, girls and teachers; salsa classes; the opportunity to meet young people of a similar age; making paella in the school courtyard…
Program summary
- Accommodation: With families, double room, full or half board. Single room available. Or in shared flats, double or single room.
- Return airport transfer Málaga (AGP) or Granada (GRX)
- 2 activities in the afternoon or evening
- Visit to the Alhambra Palace or the city
- 1 half day or 1 full (+30€ pax) day excursion (Sierra Mountains/beach)
- Complementary free places: 1 teacher for every 8 students
- Presence of one Spanish teacher at all activities.

An integrated full immersion program that includes coursework, cultural / social activities and lodging. Programs of study are designed to fulfil the students college syllabus as well as the requirements for credit transfers.
In Castila, students become part of an international group whose common language will be Spanish. This is used and tested in different situations:
- With Spanish students, families and collaborators
- In class, with experienced teachers
- Outside the class, in carefully planned activities, organized according to the students interests and the communication goals stated and run by their teachers.
Program summary
- Available activities every week: cultural activities, run by teachers or a guest : talks, films, concerts, exhibitions, theater, group conversations, visits to the market, the library, to monuments…
- Available leisure activities: sports (soccer, volleyball tennis…), walking tours of the city, workshops (ceramic, environment, cooking…), paella (in the countryside, at the school), salsa classes, flamenco classes, lake swimming, party at the school, bike tour,…
- 1 trip (Saturday) to the beach, to the Sierra Nevada, to Sevilla, Cordoba, Baeza, Ubeda, Ronda.. organized by school collaborators/staff.
- Optional housing organized by Castila in Spanish families, students residence or shared flats.
- Access to a pool and sports facilities.
- Access to study rooms and a library.

It is a program for Spanish teachers’ groups organized in the home country. The target is to improve in didactic and/or linguistics contents according to specific needs. The program is planned along with the teachers in academic points as well as in the selection of activities.
The Courses for Spanish Teachers fulfill the necessary requirements for obtaining the grants for teachers offered by the European Union through the Comenius programme.

AIMAT:
Spanish teachers, graduatesandundergraduateswho are willingto have a future teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
OBJECTIVES
- To gain techniques and knowledge that will help you to teach Spanish
- To understand the processes involved in the four communicative skills acquisition.
- To analyse the most interesting grammatical contents when learning Spanish and acquire techniques to help learn it.
- Toanalyse and elaborate class activities.
- To assess and be familiar with different resources, teaching material, and documentary source: materials, internet, library, TV, video, music, etc.
- To contrast the knowledge acquired during the course and practice it under the CastiLa teaching team coordination. You will have the opportunity to implement what you have learnt in real classes with students from different levels and profiles.

PRACTICE:
The course participants will have the option to witness the teaching methods learnt in real classes and will have the opportunity to try for themselves in practice classes, coordinated by a tutor.

- To combine didacticand linguistics issues, a cultural immersion is a must. With this goal in mind CastiLa has designed 54 different activities that will help the student to fit in a real Spanish lifestyle. There is a wide range of activities, you can choose from themes evenings like wine tasting, politics, economics, culture etc to film series, conferences or more social activities like paella in CastiLa’s garden, international dinners, barbecues or some cultural visits (Alhambra, museums, expositions) or sports and trips combined all in a two week program.
Specific activities for Spanish teachers training
The participants can take part in the training organized by CastiLa each year for its teachers. They will be able to join the activities taking place when the student comes.
